This sensational Hawkes Bay wedding was held amongst the foothills of the Waimarama coast line.
Gin (short for Virginia) and Ted wanted a chilled late lunch for their wedding, a vibe they totally nailed. Ted (and his partner Patch) run Flagship Events, and they have some of the best looking tents in Hawkes Bay. Combine that with a great friend who had some land big enough to home the tent smack bang in front of Ocean Beach and you have yourself one hell of a wedding location.
With a lunch time wedding, getting ready started nice and early. The girls got ready in the amazing White House based in Waimarama, it was such a relaxed morning, no dramas in site. Except when the wedding car which was Gin’s grandmothers wedding car which still owned by a family member wouldn’t start. Luckily it was all sweet and she finally arrived looking like something out of an old time movie.
In fact I’d have to say, it was one of the best parts of the day for me, being ferried around in something that had such sentimental value. Plus it was like this car was made for Gin’s understated and elegant beauty.
The guests lingered over a long lunch and then moved onto the dance floor and around the tent as the sun went down. I don’t do very many day weddings, but it reminded me of how beautiful and relaxed they can be.
