Jenna and Craig are kiwis living in Amsterdam. They have been there for a while but knew they wanted to come home to get married. They organised their barn wedding at Sudbury on the Kapiti coast which is an awesome venue, it’s got bucket loads of character.
These guys were such a hoot. I knew when I first spoke to them that we would get on. You know those easy-going type, where conversations aren’t stiff or forced. On the day their horizontal nature became even more apparent when it was literally bucketing down all morning and neither of there mood swayed. Thankfully right before the ceremony, I kid you not, the rain stopped, I swear to you, it was like it knew.
After their ceremony, everyone moved their way to the barn where the champagne was flowing and everyone got to chill. But the chilling turned into a brief moment of intensity while their friends surprised them with a haka. I love a good haka.
And as it does on a wedding day, the day turned into night, dinner was served, speeches were spoken and then the dance floor shenanigans began. In this case, it included a very drunk guest doing a one arm pushup, which is the kind of stuff that makes the dance floor come alive.
