Last January I took off up north of New Zealand for the Matakana wedding of Lauren and Tim. I arrived in the afternoon and set out on my location scout. As you do in New Zealand, I drove the windy roads and arrived at quaintest little church with the prettiest of town halls directly across the road, I could hardly contain myself, it was like a setting out of a storybook.

Lauren and Tim met at design school in Wellington, they are both furniture designers living in London and you can tell that design is in their veins. As Tim was showing me around the church he was giving me a full run down of the colour palette, I had to laugh, it takes one to know one. Everything was styled so beautifully, think Kinfolk gathering, and it was such a relaxed beautiful day. Lauren looked like some kind of greek goddess in her grey Anna Demuelemester gown and I've never seen a groom rock a suit quite like Tim.

But besides the aesthetics of the day the best part were these two and their families. I get to experience alot of love and it looks different for everyone but man could you feel the love between these two. Sometimes as a photographer, there are parts of the day that feel so intimate that I think I shouldn't be there, like I'm getting to see something that not many people would see. It's a dam good job I tell you.
